Neighbors Emergency Center Proud to Sponsor Houston Children’s Festival

HOUSTON, Texas, March 14, 2017 – Neighbors Emergency Center is proud to be a sponsor of the 29th Annual Houston Children’s Festival April 1-2. The two-day extravaganza will take place in Downtown Houston at the City Hall Area, Sam Houston Park and Tranquility Park from 10:30 AM to 6:30 PM each day. Admission is $12 per person with children under 3 free.

Neighbors Emergency Center will be raffling a 4-pack of tickets to the festival. Anyone can enter the contest by filling out a short form at any Houston area Neighbors Emergency Center. Locations include Neighbors in Baytown, Bellaire, Copperfield, Crosby, Kingwood, Pasadena, Pearland, Porter and Texas City. The drawing will be held on March 22 and the winner will be able to pick up their tickets from Neighbors on March 28.

Back by popular demand, Neighbors Emergency Center will sponsor the Teddy Bear ER, which will be located in the Tranquility Park section at the Smith and Rusk street gate, near the Kid’s Directory stage. Guests can also locate the Neighbors activities by looking for the giant Scrubs the Bear inflatable.

The Neighbors Emergency Center Teddy Bear ER will allow the first 750 children each day the opportunity to check their teddy bear’s heart rate, blood pressure, give immunization “shots”, bandage and splint a broken arm or leg (child must be present at the Neighbors booth and only one bear per child). Neighbors will also sponsor a tattoo station, photo booth and games for chances to win Neighbors give-away items. Festival guests also have the chance to win $5 gift cards from Build-a-Bear.

As the largest children’s festival in the United States, the Houston Children’s Festival has raised over $5.4 million for Child Advocates, Inc., the court-appointed volunteers that represent the best interests of a child or sibling group in foster care.

These dedicated volunteers serve as the judge’s eyes and ears while the children are in custody, ensuring their unique needs are met until they can safely return home or are permanently placed with a loving relative or adoptive family.

This sponsorship is a direct link with Neighbors’ core values of having a genuine, compassionate heart; a creative spark; and a collaborative act delivered with a friendly smile.
