Neighbors Emergency Center McAllen Pleased to Serve Area in First Year

HOUSTON, Texas, April 12, 2017 – Neighbors Emergency Center McAllen is happy to recognize its first year of service to the local community. Neighbors Emergency Center McAllen began seeing patients on April 9, 2016 and reports more than 3,200 patients have received superior ER care at this location since it opened. The McAllen center is located at 6700 N. 10th Street, 78504. The center’s phone number is 956-664-1100.

In its first year, Neighbors McAllen achieved the Gold Seal of Approval by The Joint Commission, a nationally recognized independent accreditation organization committed to certifying facilities with the safest, highest quality, best-value health care.

For freestanding emergency centers (FECs), this is a volunteer accreditation. Neighbors willingly holds itself to a higher standard of quality operation and clinical care than other FECs who have chosen not to pursue this rigorous accreditation. This elite endorsement aligns with Neighbors’ purpose of providing extraordinary care that is dedicated to Making Lives Better every day.

Besides exceptional ER care with short wait times, this Neighbors Emergency Center has also brought approximately 30 jobs to the local economy by hiring local board-certified physicians and medical teams with emergency room expertise that treat all adult and pediatric injuries and illnesses.

The McAllen location’s Medical Director is Michael Mohun, MD, and the Facility Director is Sara Guerrero, RN. Neighbors is a product of the community with medical teams living near the centers they work; therefore, Neighbors is aligned with local organizations and events that are important to the community and the patients it serves.

“Neighbors Emergency Center McAllen wants to say thank you for the wonderful support that has been shown by our community over the past year,” said Mohun. “Being located at 6700 N. 10th Street, just south of Trenton Road, the response from our patients has been outstanding and we are growing daily. We give exceptionally quick medical care in a state-of-the-art facility that is also calm and clean. We enjoy being involved in community activities and always want to live up to our motto of being your Best Neighbors Ever.”

Being active in and connected to the McAllen community is paramount to Neighbors and part of what makes Neighbors Emergency Center the industry leader in freestanding ER care.

Neighbors values its strong community ties and was proud to be a Gold Spur sponsor of the Rio Grande Valley Livestock Show and Rodeo in March.
